Setting your status (Presence)
Introduction
The status feature of 3CX Phone System allows you to inform callers of your current status and to have your calls handled accordingly. For example if you are in a meeting, you can set your status to 'Away' so that calls will be automatically diverted to another extension or to your voice mail. You can configure what should happen when you set a particular status from the MyPhone 'Forwarding Rules' page.
Your current status will be displayed in 3CX Assistant so that users are aware of it. Note that the status setting will persist even if you close 3CX Assistant!
Available statuses
The following statuses (a.k.a. presence) are available in 3CX Phone System:
- Available – you are at your desk
- Away – generally used when you are away from your desk – i.e. in a meeting or having lunch
- Out of Office – used when you are physically out of the office

Google Instant from a Webmaster’s Prospective
Last week Google launched Google Instant a new search future that predicts what you’re searching for as you type each character in the search bar. For example typing the letter “l” in the Google bar, a drop down list appears with first listing being lady gaga. Average of 74,000 searches is done per month using the phase ” lady gaga’, that stands to reason it would be listed first in the drop down list. Now adding the second character in the search bar other than “a” will result in a different list. Entering “li” you get a different list with “linkedin” the first chose.
“We’re actually predicting what query you’re likely to do and we’re giving you results for that,” said Marissa Mayer, Google’s vice president of search products and user experience, as she demonstrated the feature at a press event at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
